Assessment and Therapy for Depression, Anxiety and Pain.

Welcome

I’m Janie Loubser—Clinical Psychologist based in George, the Garden Route — and online. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and chronic pain using a structured, short-term approach designed to bring clarity, relief, and meaningful change. My work is practical, evidence-based, and tailored to your unique needs, with a focus on symptom relief and building skills that last beyond our sessions.

Individual therapy for Depression and axiety

Many high-functioning, capable people reach a point where forward movement slows or stops. We are accustomed to responsibility, productivity, and competence. We give generously—to our families, our work, and others—often without pause. We are ambitious, reflective, and used to managing complexity.

Yet even for those who cope well, there are times when depression or anxiety begins to interfere with clarity, energy, and momentum.

At times, a life event, prolonged stress, loss, illness, or cumulative pressure disrupts the internal balance that once allowed things to work. Functioning may continue on the surface, but internally there may be persistent anxiety, low mood, emotional exhaustion, or a sense of feeling stuck.

For individuals who are used to managing well, this can be both confusing and frustrating.

A Structured Approach to Therapy for Anxiety and Depression

Effective individual therapy for depression and anxiety requires more than insight alone. While self-awareness is important, it must be paired with clear therapeutic goals and a structured treatment approach.

Without this, reflection can become circular rather than corrective.

My aim is to help you achieve real relief from anxiety and depression symptoms, while also restoring a sense of direction, agency, and forward movement in your life.

Evidence-Based Treatment for Depression and Anxiety

My work is grounded in evidence-based psychological therapy, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression

  • Mindfulness-based approaches for emotional regulation

  • Structured psychological formulation and treatment planning

Together, we work to:

  • Understand the patterns maintaining anxiety or depression

  • Identify what has shifted or become stuck

  • Define clear and meaningful treatment goal

  • Implement practical strategies that support lasting change

Evidence-Based Treatment for Chronic Pain

This treatment integrates well-established psychological treatments used internationally for chronic pain and illness, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for chronic pain
